Richard Garfield, Game Designer (Magic: The Gathering, King Of Tokyo) says, "It is terrific to be able to play Trouble With Robots again - it is overdue for iOS. It surprised me that it still feels unlike anything else I have played, I would have expected some other game developers to use this obviously good game formula to make a bunch of exciting new games. I hope that it gets the success and attention it deserves - and inspires the new games which >I< deserve!"

Shaun Musgrave, Toucharcade.com says, "I enjoyed it just on its cheeky attitude alone, with the surprising depth of the gameplay at higher levels proving to be the icing on the cake. If you give it a try, it will probably win you over the same way."

Pros and cons of Trouble With Robots app for iPhone and iPad

Trouble With Robots app good for

I cant put this down! Im gonna be late for work! Must...Destroy....Robots! If you enjoy real time strategy and clever humour then this game will treat you right!
Nice game! Lots of combos, amazing deal for the holiday, and some good humour. Enjoying it a lot and wish a lot of success for the developers.
Seemed a little shallow at first but after a little digging found quite a bit of depth.
I am a game/app hoarder, Ill freely admit it. Ive spent more money on games that Ive either not played at all, or barely played. This game is the first in a very long time that grabbed my interest and kept me engaged to want to write a review. I made the decision to load it up today while I was waiting for my kids to get out of school, and the experience was truly something I havent felt in a very long time. Everything, every card draw and every attack, feels important and visceral. While you wont have Xcom attachment to your troops, youll feel sad when they die (which they will often), but if youve strategized properly, youll pull another card that will help get you where you need to go in order to succeed. And the humor, while subtle, is perfect. Reminds me of the quips from the original Warcraft. TL;DR: GET THIS GAME.
Tons of different cards and combinations, plus some hilarious social satire. Whats not to like? If only I could figure out if Im a robot or not . . . Maybe more time playing this game on my phone in the city will help me to figure it out.
I wish they had out more thought into the achievements. They had one cool card... The one where you had to beat a level without summoning any units. Awesome. I also wish that stars were given for something other than "no deaths" since that discourages peasant/archer strategies. But... Ive spent 20 hours playing this game. I clearly like it. I bought the expansion without any hesitation, and I would buy another one too if it came out.

Some bad moments

Solid game, good mechanics & fun. About 2 hours of gameplay, about 7+ hours to unlock all the cards. A joy to play if you like card based strategy games.
One of my favorite games ^_^d Absolutely amazing ! Excellent fun and very nostalgic for card / war game fans. The only critique I would give is that toward the end of the game the map overhead is a bit cluttered and I wish there was a way I could look at all of my cards outside of entering a level as well as being able to save my game to the iCloud
This is a fun strategy game with a witty storyline and no constant pestering for $0.99 upgrades. The tutorials are 1990s brief and just get you playing as soon as possible without having to click through dozens of dialogue boxes. The animation of the SD fighters is limited but economical and smooth. This is where more games need to go! For fans of Dragonforce, Langrisser, that sort of thing. A breath of fresh air.
A few minutes per level makes this a great quick strategy game.
hard to put down at first, gameplay is fun, the characters funny, the cards are cool, I keep coming back to try the harder levels and to try to get more cards. You should play it. H
I like the game a lot. It is very well made and runs very smoothly :) I learned about it at Tech :)
